Nærøyfjord
The western coast is known for its magnificent fjords. The longest and deepest is the Sognefjord, that stretches from just north of Bergen and all the way into the Jotunheimen mountains. You will travel through the picturesque region of Sognefjord around Vik and to the world's narrowest fjord, Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Next, you’ll enjoy the scenic coastline of Arnafjord, a bay of Sognefjord, with a stop at the Botnafossen waterfall.

Immerse yourself in Scandinavian history by visiting the Hopperstad Stave Church. Dating back to the 12th century, this well-preserved wooden church showcases intricate architectural details and offers a glimpse into Norway's medieval past. Another medieval historical site is the Hove Stone Church. A church built in the 12th century, which stands as a testament to Norway's religious history.

You will visit viewpoints overlooking the fjord coast and the village of Vik, as well as the viewpoint of the Vikafjellet mountain.

The journey then continues through beautiful landscapes to the viewpoint at the Stalheimskleiva, featuring the steepest mountain switchback in Northern Europe.

Optional: a visit to the Viking village in Gudvangen.

Next, you’ll embark on a two-hour cruise through the Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjord, two branches of the world's longest fjord, the Sognefjord. Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in the world, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

After the cruise, you’ll return to Vik.

Duration: approx. 6 h (190 km, approx. 3-3,5 h in the car).
