A short tour of Ålesund, a beautiful city on islands with Art Nouveau architecture, includes a visit to the Aksla viewpoint where you can look out over the city and the surrounding mountains.

Next, take a scenic ferry cruise from the Ålesund area to Molde, the "city of roses and jazz", famous worldwide for its popular annual jazz festivals.

If time permits in Molde, visit the Varden viewpoint for a panoramic view of the 222 snow-capped peaks of the Romsdal Alps.

Additionally, if desired, you will have a unique opportunity to visit magical marble caves on a raft and taste the spring water inside the caves (tour approx. 1-1,5 hours, highly recommended!).

Alternatively, you can visit the fishing village of Bud on the Atlantic coast of Norway.

Then you will literally drive over the Atlantic Ocean! For 8 kilometers, the famous Atlantic Road connects small coastal islands by bridges. You will have photo stops at beautiful spots along the road. This spectacular stretch of road has been named the world’s best road trip, the most beautiful bike ride in Norway, and the Norwegian engineering feat of the century. It's also one of the best places in the world to mend a broken heart, according to Lonely Planet.
You will take a scenic circular walk along the Atlantic Road with numerous viewpoints.

If time allows, continue the trip to the town of Kristiansund, the home of Norwegian dried cod. Kristiansund is spread across four idyllic islands by the edge of the open sea in northwestern Norway. And don't leave Kristiansund without tasting the city’s speciality: Bacalao, a traditional clipfish (dried and salted cod) stew made with tomatoes.

Return to Ålesund.

Tour duration: approx. 8-8,5 h (275-320 km, 5,5-6,5 h in the car).
Sights
Famous for its Art Nouveau architecture, Ålesund is the cultural centre of the Sunnmøre region. A devastating fire in 1904 left much of Ålesund in ashes. The rebuilding resulted in a city that contains some of Europe's best examples of Art Nouveau architecture.

Bud is a charming fishing village on Norway's west coast. You can stroll down the winding streets between old houses – each with a story to tell about a rugged coastal life. Did you know that Bud was one of the largest trading posts between Bergen and Trondheim in the 16th century?

The Atlantic Road - a unique stretch of road which takes you right out to the ocean's edge, and is known to be the world's most beautiful drive. This road includes eight bridges a total of 8,274 metres that connects Averøy with the mainland.

Kristiansund is a beautiful city situated on four islands connected by bridges and ferries. Kristiansund is famous for its history of salted cod production, which was traditionally dried on rocks by the sea.
