Discover Copenhagen a cozy, welcoming, and beautifully balanced city where colorful historic houses stand side by side with grand palaces and churches, and where the Scandinavian lifestyle of hygge is a way of life. During this three-hour walking tour, you’ll get to know why Copenhagen is often called one of the happiest capitals in Europe and explore both its iconic landmarks and hidden corners.

The tour begins at City Hall Square, the symbolic heart of the city where history meets modern life. From here, we stroll along Strøget, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian shopping streets, vibrant from morning until late evening. You will visit the political center of Denmark at Christiansborg Palace, home to the Danish Parliament, and step into the peaceful Royal Library Garden, a quiet oasis hidden from the busy streets.

Wandering through narrow streets lined with historic houses, that seem to have stepped straight out of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales, you’ll emerge onto elegant squares surrounded by majestic palaces. Along the picturesque Nyhavn waterfront, enjoy the cozy atmosphere and colorful facades, and find the house where the famous writer once lived.

Throughout the tour, your experienced guide will share stories and insights into the city’s past and present — from its origins as a small fishing village to its rise as Scandinavia’s largest city and one of the most livable places in the world.

At Amalienborg Palace, the official residence of the Danish royal family, you will know how to tell whether the king or queen is in residence and why Danes take such pride in their monarchy — the oldest continuous monarchy in the world. Green parks, elegant boulevards, scenic waterfronts, statues, and charming urban details accompany you throughout the walk.

The tour concludes at The Little Mermaid, Copenhagen’s most famous symbol and one of the world’s most recognizable sculptures. Meeting her is the perfect finale to your introduction to Copenhagen a city where fairy tales live and happiness feels real.
