This exclusive full-day car tour offers a unique opportunity to experience both modern Copenhagen and historic Roskilde in one day — from royal palaces and lively waterfronts to Viking heritage and Denmark’s first capital.

The tour begins in Copenhagen, where you will explore the city’s main landmarks during a comfortable drive through the historic center. You will see the impressive Christiansborg Palace, home to the Danish Parliament, the elegant Amalienborg Palace, residence of the Danish royal family, and enjoy views of the city’s broad boulevards, charming neighborhoods, and scenic waterfronts. Along the way, there will be stops for photos and short walks, allowing you to take in the atmosphere of a city where history and modern life exist in perfect balance.

Next, the journey continues to Roskilde, located about 35 km from Copenhagen. Once the capital of the Danish kingdom, Roskilde is a town deeply connected to Denmark’s royal and Viking past. You will stroll through the cozy streets of the old town and visit its greatest treasure — Roskilde Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is Denmark’s most important cathedral and the burial place of Danish monarchs from the Middle Ages to the present day. Its rich interior, historic tombs, murals, and intricate carvings leave a lasting impression.

Optionally, you may visit the Viking Ship Museum, where authentic Viking ships from the 10th–11th centuries, carefully recovered from the Roskilde Fjord, are on display. Here you will gain insight into how the Vikings lived, traveled, and built their ships. At the nearby shipyard, traditional Viking shipbuilding techniques are still used today. During the summer season, you may also choose to sail on a reconstructed Viking ship on the fjord (available for an additional fee).

At the end of the tour, you may stop by the museum café to sample dishes inspired by ancient recipes.

This excursion is a perfect blend of city sightseeing and a journey deep into history, offering a vivid picture of Denmark — from vibrant Copenhagen to ancient Roskilde.
